Light Field Camera by Lytro

I was so blown away by this amazing new camera that I had to publish a quick excerpt from their website.  Check out the photos and have a play with them.  You will be as amazed as I was.    I definitely want one of these cameras!!

The camera that turns light into living pictures

This year, Lytro will debut the first light field camera for everyone. OK – you’re not everyone. You are a beautiful, unique snowflake. And you deserve an amazing camera that lets you capture life’s singular moments, like baby’s first steps not second, with maximum magic and minimum hassle. No more fighting with dials and settings and modes. No more flat, boring, static photographs. With a Lytro, you unleash the light.

No fuss focus. Click away. Shoot first, focus after. That's right, after. You can't miss.  Shares the magic. Immersive sharing with living pictures makes “wish you were here” come true. Speed, indeed.  From sleep to snap in under a second. Instant on. Bye-bye shutter lag. Travels light. Portable and stylish enough to bring along, from the beach to the bistro.

This Week from the Traveler

This week I'm running a day behind!  Another great week with some fantastic photo's from Australia, Europe, China and the Caribbean.  My two favourites this week are these pictures from Europe.  The photo on the right has an amazing story which I will share when it's solved. And the lights in the photo below would have to be a must see.  I can see a trip to Europe on the horizon!

So this week we had 7 photo's placed on the planet with Tracy Z being our Top Traveler of the week.  She also became a contributing photographer which is fantastic.  Congratulations again Tracy!

The destination of the week is Disneyworld Orlando.  Two photo's were placed there this week and it really is the happiest place on the planet.

I hope you have had a great week and keep checking back to see if you can place our unsolved photo's on the planet, and don't forget to tell your friends, the more that play the more fun we will have :)

This Week from the Traveler

A great week for placing photo's on the planet!  We had 9 solved with Anna taking out Top Traveler of the week with 6 solves to her name - Congratulations again!  This week we had photo's from USA, Australia, Caribbean and Malaysia and 2 new contributing photographers Ken and Rebecca.  I look forward to seeing more of their top travel photos!

My two favourite pics of the week are the T38 on show at Kennedy Space Centre Florida and the sweeping view of Surfers Paradise Beach Queensland.  As I have said before space is a subject close to my heart and it was amazing to learn more about manned space flight while we were in Orlando.  I only wish I could be there for the final space shuttle launch.

Don't forget to check out the unsolved pics - Photo Number 11 is quite tricky - a quick hint - they serve a mean Painkiller in this part of the world.

Hope everyone has a great week and don't forget - anyone can be a contributing photographer - the pic doesn't have to be of an exotic location - I'm sure your home town has lots of interesting places!

This Week from the Traveler

A hectic week this week, but I still managed to have 4 Contributing Photographers and 3 photo's placed on the planet.  Photo's from Australia, USA, Turkey and the Caribbean.  Leonie is on a mission to work out Photo Number 11, can you beat her to it??

Another two favourite photo's for this week. Lone Pine Anzac Cove Turkey is a place that all Australians and New Zealanders should visit - to keep in perspective how lucky we are. I hope to go for the 100 year anniversary.  And what a fantastic photo of Tangalooma Wrecks on Moreton Island Queensland - Well done Brian.  Moreton Island is our Destination of the Week.
